The Obama of 2012 – Paul Ryan?

Karin Agness became a leader among young Republicans because of a girl crush, writ large.   When she returned to her third year of college at the University of Virginia after interning on the Hill, she was looking for an environment akin to what she’d found DC – “smart, ambitious, really fascinating women who are all doing great things on the Hill, and also balancing full family lives.” And when she couldn’t find such an environment for conservative women, she founded one herself, in the form of a book club called the Network of Enlightened Women, or NEW. Within six months, Agness says, students at William and Mary decided to start a NEW chapter, and now the group is on 20 campuses nationally.

She talked to Youth Radio’s Robyn Gee about how Paul Ryan has affected youth sentiment towards her party’s ticket.
